When you’ve been arrested, you’re going to want to pay your bail so that you can be released from jail. In many cases, you’re not going to be able to pay the full amount yourself, so you’re going to need to get a bail bond. Unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to do this from inside the jail. You’re going to need to have a friend or family member secure the bail bond for you. In order to do that, they’re going to need to sing a contract stating that you will follow all of the rules of the bond contract, such as making sure you attend all hearings.
In order to convince a family member or friend to help you, there are a few things you might like to do:
* Remind them that you will be able to hire a lawyer if you are not in jail, and a lawyer can help you whether make sure you attend all of your hearings or go to some of the hearings in place of you. This way, they don’t have to worry about whether or not you’ll attend all hearings.
* Ensure them that the arrest was a one time occurrence, and you will not be arrested again. This way they don’t have to worry about losing the money or collateral they used to secure the bond due to you being arrested before your hearings are over.
* Offer to repay them the amount of the bond. If you have the money already, you may offer to give them the full amount they had to pay as soon as you are released. If they know that they don’t have to cover the bond amount now and they’re not going to lose money from it later, they may be more inclined to help you.
Once you’ve convinced a family member or friend to help you, they can go to a Bailbondsman in the area, such as Bond James Bond Inc. and secure the bond for you. The Bailbondsman will be able to pay your bail quickly and once it has processed you will be released from jail. If your family member has agreed to help you, make sure you keep up with all of the things you promised them in order to get the help you needed.
